Namibians travelling to Angola are benefiting from a weaker Angolan kwanza while Angolans who cross the border to do shopping in Namibia are complaining about having to pay more.
Until a week ago the exchange rate in the thriving black market at the Oshikango border crossing fluctuated between KZ9.00 and KZ10.00 for one Namibia dollar, but it suddenly jumped to KZ13.50 for one Namibia dollar last week. The official exchange rate stood at N$1.00 = KZ9.07 Saturday.
