Sioka wants a check on foreign understudies

The Minister of Labour and Welfare has condemned the “importation” of foreigners as understudies or experts at the expense of Namibians.
Speaking at her ministry’s first general staff meeting for this year, Doreen Sioka urged labour inspectors to intensify workplace inspections to prevent exploitation of Namibian workers.
“I know there are still some of those who try to squeeze in foreigners in the name of understudies or specialised staff,” said Sioka.
