Three hundred children have had their hearing improved or restored through a project that sees German ear, nose and throat specialists operate on Namibians in need of assistance.
The Project Omakutsi team comprises of Professor Jürgen Lautermann, Professor Götz Lehnerdt and Dr Rüdiger Junker.
The project started in 2003 and the operations are free.
Omakutsi is the Oshiwambo word for ears.
Programme aims to improve and in some cases restore hearing in patients suffering from chronic middle-ear infections.
