Geingob eyes African role

Commentators say President Hage Geingob is positioning himself to play an active role on the African continent, but have advised that he should focus on pressing issues at home first.
This follows Geingob’s maiden State of the Nation Address on Tuesday when he indicated that “Namibia is part and parcel of the New Africa”.
Geingob said as the continent enters the so-called second phase of the struggle, Namibia is committed to joining efforts to promote intra-African trade, as well as value-addition.
