False Ebola rumours could harm trade

The Namibia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NCCI) northern branch has expressed concern over rumours circulating in Angola that there are Ebola cases in Namibia. NCCI northern chairperson Tomas Iindji said social networks are being used to scare the masses and although it’s business as usual for now, these rumours could affect cross-border trade. One of the notices seen by Namibian Sun, written in Portuguese and circulated on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Whatsapp, reads: “People, Ebola is already in Namibia!
