Smoking ban hits booze sales

Restaurants and bars are fuming over the public smoking ban, saying that large swathes of their customers are now staying away because they are unable to smoke in public places. In terms of Namibia’s recently enacted Tobacco Products Control Act, individuals who own or are in control of public venues with patrons can be fined up to N$60 000 or face three years in prison for allowing smoking on their premises.
