The cash-based nature of the taxi industry has traditionally led to the sector being prone to the criminal element.
Thanks to a new local collaboration, taxi operators and their drivers now have the means to reduce their risk of being robbed, while at the same time gaining easy access to the country’s banking system.
The NPPTA Card was launched in Windhoek on Wednesday, a joint product by the Namibia Public Passenger Transport Association (NPPTA), Nam-mic Payment Solutions and Blend Mobile.
